according to the ASPCA, more than one million dogs are euthanized in the US every year. pitbulls take a big part of this number because they have a bad reputation and are often regarded as scary, terrifying, dangerous and violent breeds. but Sophie Gamand, a frensh photographer of New York, has a different point of view.
She has visited a lot of dog shelters around America and photographed orphaned pitbulls wearing flower crowns in an effort to show the soft side of this species of animal.
“I wish for this series (Flower Power: Pit Bulls of the Revolution) to challenge the way we look at pit bulls, and ultimately the way we treat them” Sophie wrote
